I have to give a huge shout out first, "West Hawaii Association of Realtors" and their amazing Government Affairs and Education committees, Marissa Ashley, Mike Drutar, Brian McCourt, Linda Swanson, Karin Shaw and from the Planning Department, Michael Yee and Libby Gillis . All of these people have volunteered an amazing amount of time putting this together.
Housekeeping: Ok, out of habit (what habit I don't know) But I have always called the variance a "NonConforming Use Permit" an "NCU" . I have overlooked the spelling for how long? Clarification: It is a "NCU" permit.... NonConforming Use ... NCU. So please correct my mistakes, it is an NCU permit for properties that are in an are non permitted zone.
Our Sponsor on this was Ronnie Strickler from HomeBridge Home Loans, if Ronnie can help you in anyway, please reach out to her, I have personally dealt with Ronnie for probably a decade !
And another huge shout out John Gailliard, photographer and owner of Kona Creative Images. Thank you John for your time videoing this, and if you ever need Real Estate photos, or photos for your STVR (lol) give John a shot - link below.
And now the long awaited video, grab your popcorn , notepad, and cold beverage, its about an hour an half long.
And Please, this is a guideline, this is new to us, new to the planning department and new to you. DO NOT hold this as fact of law, this was a presentation with some Q&A at the end and not meant to be an end all to all your questions. Items change, all answers were put forth in an honest format, but may be subject to change, the Planning Department may have gone back and reviewed their answers and need to make adjustments? Always, always, double check with the Planning Department before making any decisions on which way you choose to go. And one last item that I say at the end of my posts. You have ONE opportunity to get this right, don't trust Facebook, the internet, or even my blog - go directly to the source! Here is the link to the County's Website on STVR.
Thank you for watching, and if you want to see my recap from the actual meeting, please click the photo below
